But it will be totally portable, and can be set in the middle of the backseat for the rare occasion I have 3 passengers. My GF is only 5'1", so she has the seat way forward anyway. I'll normally set it behind the passenger seat. I'm thinking about a single 8" or 10" sub which will use less than 1 cube net. I've been building enclosures for about 35 years. I have one of those ridiculous loud, big systems in my F150, 18" sub, 3500 wts, etc, etc, and it only cost about $3500. PS, The upgraded stereo option is totally ridiculous ! $3K more for the Lariat trim in the first place, and another $3.8K for the stereo ! Nearly $7K for a setup I'd bet does not sound as good as my Prius. I'd like to think that the electrical system in this little truck would be "at least as strong" as in my Prius. But then he said, he actually hooked up an amp that pulled a little over 100 amps, and it didn't fry anything, but he did get a a pop up warning him of an electrical error.Īnyway, the 5ch amp in my Prius is fused for 90 amps, and I've never had a problem. Granted it probably only actually pulls 40 or 50 during hard use. But I found an installer online (who recommended that Axxess DSP X) and had installed a system in his wifes Prius (same year and model as mine) in which the 5 ch amp he was using, was fused for 100 amps. My Prius, Toyota says its only safe to pull 30 amps ?. So I talked to a tech guy at Crutchfield's, and now their is only one more consideration > I wonder how many amps of draw, Ford is going to consider safe ? (used to be a common problem with alternator whine in the old days). I think these might just be the answer ! Fantastic reviews, and nobody talking about problems with using speaker level inputs. Recently, someone on that other forum reminded me of these awesome little pieces of tech. so I'm sure not going 6 months with nothing to listen to in the Maverick. (Axxess DSP X) which unfortunately, is not going to be made for the Maverick, for at least a few months "after it hits the streets". Only problem is, in my Prius, I'm using a little plug and play DSP, which is made specifically for my Toyota Prius. Now, I have a system in my little Prius, that sounds absolutely awesome ! That is what I would like to replicate. Put it this way, if I knew ahead of time, that this were not going to be possible, this would be a deal breaker for me. Anyway, Having a nice sounding stereo is totally critical for me in any vehicle. I have been on the other Maverick forum for a little while though.
